Sudha Russell, M.D., FAAP received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is Board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine and with the National Board of Medical Examiners.
With extensive pediatric experience, she served as the Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles – regarded as one of the top medical education programs in the country.
Dr. Russell is a veteran of the United States Air Force. She served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Corps and Chief of Pediatrics at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
She was inspired to get into healthcare as being the oldest grandchild in an extended family, she was always taking care of children, especially their acute needs. At age 11, she was responsible for a 2-year-old cousin when he fell and broke his arm. She said she loves the ability to help anyone feel better and be happy!
With a passionate purpose fueled by the honor and responsibility to take care of someone’s child, she knows parents are entrusting her with their most precious healthcare decisions. Therefore, she treats every patient under her care as if they are her own.
Her core message stresses that caring for the health of children is a team effort and the responsibility of, not only the physician but also, the parents and of the older child (patient), too! Working together, we can achieve the best possible results.
Dr. Russell is a runner and loves to compete in 5k races. She enjoys cooking (and eating) and is still an active member of the LA Foodies organization. She also feels a calling to travel and reads travel books.
Although Hindi is her native tongue, she also speaks medical Spanish well enough to communicate with LatinX patients.
