Kaishawn McDuffie, DNP, (Doctor of Nursing Practice) serves patients much like a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.  Growing up in South Central Los Angeles, she understands the needs of families who struggle with economic and healthcare challenges. She graduated in 2021 from Loma Linda University as a DNP Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She recently passed the Advanced Diabetes Management board certification exams.

In 1988, while working at the American Diabetes Association as a secretary, McDuffie saw a need for people to learn more about diabetes management. She believes health is vitally important and enjoys having the opportunity to help others improve their quality of life with health education focused on prevention, wellness, and health promotion.

Kaishawn chose to work at a community health center as she wanted to be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Her focus is patient-centered care to meet the individualized needs of each person in her care. Displaying respect and kindness while empowering everyone to take control of their health, she believes involving patients in a holistic (mind, body, and spirit) approach to care is essential for their quality of life.

When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dog Memphis, playing cards (bid whist), and bike riding.
