Monkeypox is a rare disease caused by infection from exposure to the monkeypox virus and can spread from person to person through direct contact with the infectious rash, scabs, or body fluids. It also can be spread by respiratory secretions during intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling, or sex. Anyone in close physical contact with a person with monkeypox can get it and should take steps to protect themselves.
Community Health Centers of the Central Coast will be conducting a NO-COST JYNNEOS vaccine clinic on Saturday, September 17th from 9 AM to 12 noon at CHC-Del Valle, located at 430 S. Blosser Rd. in Santa Maria.
This is a NO COST vaccine clinic
Open to the public, ages 18 years and older
No appointment is needed
The JYNNEOS vaccine helps to protect against the Monkeypox virus when given before or after exposure. *2 doses are required at 3-4 weeks apart.
