National Health Center Week is held the 2nd week of August each year and is promoted by the National Association of Community Health Centers. This special week of recognition celebrates the care and efforts to maintain the health of people within their communities.and seeks to spread awareness about the importance of community health centers nationwide.
Community Health Centers of the Central Coast salutes all of our staff for their participation, their hard work and their dedication to our patients. Below are some video interviews and pictures from a few of our clinics and amazing outreach in the community during NHCW.
CHC’s Behavioral Health Department distributed 100 lunch bags directly to agricultural workers working in the fields. The lunch bags contained hand sanitizer, sunglasses, masks, & fresh produce. To wrap up the week, the BH dept also served 200 families in Santa Maria of public housing, farmworker, & low-income backgrounds by providing access to nutritious food & 200 back-to-school bags for youth. Access to healthy foods, personal protection against viruses, & health education are important components of our children’s health & wellbeing. It is incredible to see all the wonderful services & resources we have collectively provided this past week across our clinic network. The Behavioral Health team is humbled to serve our community alongside such dedicated & caring individuals. Thank you for living & breathing our mission!
